INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT
A. The true test of loving God is seen in the visible signs of our actions and attitudes.

A. Confirming Scriptures Regarding Obedience
1. Our obedience will impact generations. (Deuteronomy 5:29, KJV & The Amplified Bible)
a. Obedience is a heart issue; a mindset.
2.     The blessings of obedience. (Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
a. Several synonyms for the word blessing: exaltation, health, “reproductiveness” (every area of the believer’s life is productive), prosperity, victory and favor.
3.     The curses of disobedience. (Deuteronomy 28:15-64)
a. A curse has to have a cause and the root cause of a curse is disobedience. (Proverbs 26:1-2)
b. Several indicators of a curse:
1. Mental or emotional breakdowns on a regular basis.
2. Repeated or chronic sickness particularly if it is heredity
3. The tendency of miscarriage or related female problems
4. Continuous financial insufficiencies
5. A breakdown of marriage and family
6. Being accident prone
7. Unnatural and untimely deaths
8. God’s “disfavor”
9. Failures
10. Psychological oppression
11. Defeat
12. Worry
13. Humiliation
4.     Obedience is God’s avenue for the blessing. (Deuteronomy 30:15-16)
5.     Our service to God is our obedience to God. (Joshua 24:14-15)
6.     These passages of scriptures illustrate a metaphoric example of obedience. (St. Matthew 7:21-27)
a. “House” is used to describe how one builds his/her life through obedience to God’s word.
b. Obedience is a twofold process: hearing and then doing.
c. A life of obedience is how you will withstand the pressures of life.
d. Wise children hear and obey the Lord; foolish children are disobedient.
e. The testimony of believers is that we recover all.  (I Samuel 30)
f. Believers lives are preserved when we “hear and do” the instructions of the Lord.

B. Ingredients of the Obedient
(If we are truly obedient to God, there are to be visible signs of our obedience).
1.    Our obedience is seen in our actions and attitudes.
a. Our attitude toward God instructions will determine our obedience.
2.     We are to obey God enthusiastically, cheerfully and willingly. (Isaiah 1:19)
3.     Our obedience should be energetic, devout (to do things for the Lord you will do for no other), and fervent (boiling, hot, not stale). (Romans 12:11)
