The Sovereignty of God II

(Be Ye Perfect)

INTRODUCTION

  1. The [biblical definition] of the sovereignty of God is a point of contention for some traditionalists in the body of Christ.
    1. The sovereignty of God does not mean that God uses evil and even death for His glory (a misnomer often heard at funerals).
    2. Believers can die prematurely but that’s not the will of God.  The longevity of man according to God is 120 years.
      1. Ecclesiastes 7:17
      2. Psalm 90:10
        1. Moses prays to God to reduce man’s span of life from 120 years to 80 years.
        2. Reason of strength – the amount of Word you know and apply.
      3. Psalm 90:12
      4. Proverbs 3:1-2
      5. Ephesians 6:1-3
      6. Hebrews 9:27
    3. The word of God establishes His parameters and mode of operation.
      1. Psalm 138:1-2
      2. St. Matthew 7:7-11
        1. As a good parent, God lovingly fathers His children. Out of His sovereignty, He gives good gifts to His children.
      3. Psalm 8:4-5 (KJV, AMP)
      4. Hebrews 1:13-14 (KJV, AMP)
        1. The word of God must be accurately translated and interpreted to understand the will of God.
        2. Man was created above the angels.  God’s hierarchal order: first –God; secondly – man; and thirdly – angels.
        3. Angels have been commissioned to bring man’s words (according to the word of God) to fruition.
    4. God is not limited to natural laws or matter.  He can use anything, everything and all things to accomplish His will in your life.
      1. Romans 8:28
        1. God can manipulate even the natural elements for our good.
        2. Moreover, God can manage and manipulate even the things the enemy have meant for our evil and use them for our good.
      2. James 1:16-17
      3. St. Luke 1:37 (KJV, AMP)

      1. Sovereigns create and make
        1. To create – to construct from nonexistent substance

      3. Before Adam sinned, he was perfect (complete) before God.  In other words, he was speaking in line with the sovereignty of God.
      4. When we operate and speak the word of the sovereign God, we can have what we say just like Adam had before his fall.
      5. We expect the supernatural to manifest in our lives when we understand that completeness and perfection is in our covenant with the sovereign God.
  5. St. Matthew 5:48
    1. We can live perfect like Jesus with Jesus residing in us.
