INTRODUCTION

  1. God is a God of increase.  His objective is to bless and empower us.
    1. St. John 10:10, KJV & AMP
    2. Psalm 115:11-15
      1. The fear of the Lord is respect for God’s way of doing things (God’s way of operating) above your [personal] way.
      2. Compliance with the word of God commands the blessing into your life.
    3. It is God’s desire to bless us because He has already blessed us.
      1. II Peter 1:3
      2. God’s divine power is His sovereignty.
      3. Man was not designed to be without a Master or Lord (an Over Lord).  The Lord has the highest power and He has given us [as His off-springs] power.
        1. Psalm 82
        2. I John 4:17
        3. St. John 10:34
    4. God’s sovereign will is to bring us into royalty but there is a method or a process that we must follow.
    5. The blessing of God does not cost anything but there are tenants that govern it like tithe, offering and first fruit.
    6. God blesses because of His covenant with the believer.  You cannot be a carrier of the blessing if you are not in the Kingdom.
  2. Glossary terms [to gain concept of the lesson]
    1. The blessing…
      1. An empowerment or the anointing of God to produce through divine favor (the blessing just keeps on producing).
      2. Overrides any curse, condition, situation or circumstance.
      3. The blessing overrode Abram’s situation to produce Isaac.
      4. A sentence of rape, the pit and even prison were meaningless to Joseph because he had the blessing.
    2. Believe or believing…
      1. A spiritual term that does not belong in the vocabulary of a non-believer.
      2. Believing is accepting the word of God as truth without sense realm verification.
    3. Catalyst…
      1. Something that causes activity between two or more forces.
      2. The catalyst for blessings (plural) is “the blessing” (singular).  In other words, “the blessing” is the source of all blessings.
    4. Covenant…
      1. A formal agreement between two or more persons to do something specified.
    5. Faith…
      1. Faith is a force developed in the human spirit as a result of what happens when the heart is continually exposed to the word of God.

 

  1.          I.            The catalyst to the covenant (the blessing) is compliance or obedience.
    1. God acts by way of our invocation [like prayer].  Compliance to the system of tithe, offering and first fruit gives God permission to use His sovereignty to bless us.
      1. The tithe is a covenant.
      2. You cannot be a carrier of the blessing without being a tither.  You are not buying the blessing with your tithe but honoring the blessing.
      3. With the blessing you are empowered to prosper.
      4. The blessing, however, is not only financial.
      5. St. Luke 13:16
        1. The blessing (God’s sovereignty and covenant) overrides the law.
        2. The force of God overrides the natural circumstances.
        3. Healing was a part of her covenant; in other words, healing was included in the blessing.
    2. The blessing is a force that makes a way.
      1. Proverbs 10:22
      2. Faith is a force that overrides any natural condition, state of being or state of mind.  For example, the force made Abraham.  (Scripture reference – Romans 4)
      3. Giving is faith in action.
      4. The level of your giving is an indication of your faith.
      5. To give by faith, your heart must be overwhelmed with the word of God to oppose human reasoning.
      6. The blessing maketh…rich.  The struggle is over with the blessing.
  2.         II.            The blessing is responsible for the blessings.
    1. Deuteronomy 28:1-2
      1. Compliance to in verse 1 leads to the blessings in verse 2.
    2. Genesis 1:28
      1. The first gift God gave to man was the blessing.  Adam forfeited the blessing by his disobedience.
      2. When you disallow the covenant, you walk away from the blessing (an open heaven).
    3. Genesis 9:1
      1. After Adam forfeits the blessing, God bestows the blessing on Noah.
      2. With the blessing, Noah builds anew an entire civilization.
    4. Genesis 12:1-3
      1. The blessing upon Abram is contingent on his adherence to the instructions from the Lord.
