(Teaching Makes the Word Work)

Church is an instructional period more so than an emotional experience.

 

FOUNDATIONAL TEXTS

  1. James 1:22
    1. Your true self is your spirit which is just like God.
    2. At the moment of salvation, God downloaded all of who He is in your spirit.
    3. Instructions are needed to draw out the God-part of you.
    4. Proverbs 20:5

        1. The body is comprised of the 5 physical senses: hear, see, taste, touch and smell.
        2. The soul of man has 5 characteristics: mind, will, intellect and imagination.
        3. The spirit of man has 5 characteristics: faith, hope, worship, prayer and praise.
    6. If you never experience a change, you will be limited to the 5 physical senses.

    7. The word of God is the connector between the things that exist in the heavenly realm and manifestation of things in the natural realm.

        1. The visible is the realm that your senses contacts.
        2. The invisible is the realm that your faith contacts.

        5. Faith is the word of God; the word of God is the substance
        6. The title deed to everything I own in the spirit is the word of God.

    1. Doers of the Word will see their lives justified – corrected by the word of God.

      1. A picture of a life that need to be justified or corrected by God.

    1. A word is a unit of language that functions as a principle carrier of meaning and thought.
    2. God’s word is eternal.
      1. God and His word are synonymous.

        3. We are to become Word oriented and minded regardless of the natural circumstances.
        4. The word of God is the Truth.

          2. Believers are to tell the truth (the word of God about the situation) not the facts.

  1.          I.            Teaching makes the Word work
    1. The things of the Kingdom are naturally discerned; they must be taught.
    2. When Jesus assembled the people He taught them:

      6. St. Mark 10:1

      9. Taught defined…to impart knowledge or skill by giving instructions.
      10. All of God’s power is in His word; however, the amount of thought, time and study you dedicate to the Word will dictate and determine the degree of your results.
  2.         II.            7 principles of being taught
    1. Instruction – to furnish with knowledge by a systematic method
    2. Repetition – reiterating new principles over and over through utterance
    3. Study – the focus of my personal attention for review of new information
    4. Examples – the new process of the Word being lived out in the life of another
    5. Pattern – a systematic plan for incorporating the new process
    6. Practice – applying the principles learned in private to work out the difficulties
    7. Development – having the skill acquired
  3.       III.            To move to another level in the acquisition of information involves the overcoming of perceived discomforts and disadvantages of the learning process to possess the sufficient resolve to accomplish my educational goals.
