REVIEW

  1. Genesis 2:15-19
    1. The word of God is the source of our information not the world.
    2. God only wanted Adam to know what was good.
    3. The tree yield both good and its reciprocal evil.  From this tree, your choice will either connect you to the blessing or the curse.
  2. The curse of the law is the reciprocal effect of Adam’s disobedience:
    1. Sickness
    2. Disease
    3. Poverty
    4. Death (of any and all kind) man was not to experience the other side of good.
  3. Deuteronomy 28, written by Moses by the inspiration of God, is a behind the scenes knowledge of what God was saying to Adam and what Adam was supposed to experience.
    1. Deuteronomy 28:1-14 depicts the blessing – the life Adam was supposed to experience before his disobeyed God.
    2. Deuteronomy 28: 13-14,HCSB
    3. Deuteronomy 28: 15-68 depicts the curse of the law and its functions.

 

  1.          I.            Adam’s vocabulary?
    1. Genesis 2:19
      1. Adam named over 14,500 species of animals with no formal education or training.
      2. Because Adam had the mind of God, he was in sync with the blessing.
      3. Yet with such an extensive vocabulary, there were seven words Adam was never supposed to have knowledge of, understand or experience.
      4. Adam was protected from the effects of these words in the blessing but His disobedience placed him on the path of the curse.
    2. Seven words and their meanings experienced by Adam but reversed by Jesus: (Scripture reference – Romans 5:17):
      1. Death – Genesis 2:17
        1. Death has no more power over a believer.
        2. Even with a curse on Adam, he lived 930 years.
        3. I Corinthians 15:26
        4. St. John 11:25
        5. Naked (separated from the glory of God) – Genesis 3:7
          1. Adam lost the glory of God when he disobeyed.  Glory and honor were the covering or clothing of man.
          2. Psalm 8:5

          4. Cursed  – Genesis 3:17-19
            1. Galatians 3:13-14
            2. Sorrow (broken-hearted or emotional pain) – Genesis 3:17

                1. Sweatless does not mean effortlessly.
