God’s Best Comes through Giving II

(Prosperity is in My Hands)

FOUNDATIONAL TEXTS

  1. III John 1:1-2
  2. Beloved Gaius’ sickness was not a good representation of the gospel message.
  3. To “be in health” in this context is to live well.  (verse 2)
  4. In other words, the word of God impacts the body, soul, and spirit (saved, healthy, and prosperous).
  5. Revelation 1:3
    1. We can transform our lives when we read it (the Word), hear it and do it.

INTRODUCTION

  1. God desires to prosper the believer; but prosperity is not automatic.
    1. Psalm 84:11(KJV & The Amplified Bible)
      1. There are no ceilings with God.  If it’s good, God wants you to have it.
      2. Joshua 1:8
        1. The level of the word of God proceeding out of your mouth determines the level of your prosperity.
        2. In other words, what you do with the Bible will determine what the Bible will do for you.
        3. II Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV & The Amplified Bible)
          1. It is God’s will is for the believer to be complete.  (verse 17)

  1.          I.            God’s best comes in stages.
    1. God’s best describes stages or degrees in time (God’s best is the highest degree).
      1. Best defined… of the highest quality; excellence or standing; most advantageous, suitable or desirable.
      2. God’s best can only be achieved by pursuit; otherwise, “less” will be settled for.
      3. Evidence of settling for less than God’s best…
        1. Numbers 32:1-9
          1. The tribes of Reuben and Gad settled for the wrong side (west side) of the Jordan River; the Promised Land was on the east side of Jordan.
          2. Good is not God’s best.  Good may suffice for where you are but not where you are going.  (Scripture reference – St. Mark 5:1-14)
          3. Settling is an indication “its” already not enough.
    2. II Chronicles 25:1-9
      1. God is able to give you much more than what you currently have.
      2. Your giving will connect you to God’s best.  In other words, your money connects you to God’s ability.
      3. Able defined…having sufficient power, strength, force, or skill; having the means or resources of any kind to accomplish…; possessed of qualifications rendering competent for some end; legally qualified.
      4.         II.            Examples of the progressive stages to God’s best…
        1. Romans 12:1-2 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
          1. Before the “perfect “stage, you must go through the “good” and the “acceptable” (but do not settle).   (verse 2)
        2. St. Mark 4:20,24-28
          1. In verse 28, “first” implies a sequence; to arrive at “after”, you must go through “then”.
      5.       III.            Observations (to sowing seed in the kingdom of God uninterrupted by Satan’s strategy)
        1. I must know that something is happening in the spirit realm each time I sow my seed.
        2. I must know that my confession supplements all seed that I sow; therefore, I need a set time to confess God’s word daily over my seed.
        3. I must know that God is not a respecter of person.
        4. I must know that my words have control over conditions.
        5. I must know that if I am willing to wait and participate in God’s system forever, then I will not be waiting very long.  (Scripture reference – Hebrews 6:12)
        6. I must know that faith results are normally progressive.
        7. I must know that when I participate in God’s system, people will try to talk me out of God’s best.
