“The Life” hit the streets on the North side of Bessemer delivering the Word for the spiritual man and turkeys and hams for the natural man. We impacted the lives of the people in the community we ministered to.
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for many of us. It is a time for us to be in rememberance of all that God has done for us. It is a time that unifies us as we all recognize how fortunate we are to receive God’s many blessings. With everything being so fast-paced, it’s good to have a national holiday that takes a moment to say thank you. This year seems like a blur. Everything is moving so quickly; whether it’s technology, information, or trouble in the economy…it can be very easy to lose track of the important issues around Thanksgiving. We have to make it a point to consider those around us who are less fortunate than we are.
As we approach the holiday season, Pastor & Mrs. Matthews decided we would “Hit the Streets” of Bessemer to deliver loving hugs and prayer, followed by turkeys and hams for families on the North side of Bessemer. With a renewed focus on community outreach, the New Life family showed up in force. Support for this project was shown in the sheer numbers of people who arrived to participate in this street ministry. We are talking a few hundred people, most of them sporting the new “I Love New Life” t-shirts, filling up two busses and a few vans. It was truly amazing to see.
