The Importance of Faith III
(Key Elements for the Manifestation of My Faith -B)
“Every day you delay speaking to the “mountain” is another day you will have to live with the “mountain”.
Quote by Pastor George M. Matthews II
A. Jeremiah 1:5-10
1. Until we speak in line with God’s word, we cannot fulfill His intended purpose for our lives.
B. St. Mark 11:12-14, 20-23
1. Jesus, as a man, had an expectation of the fig tree that was not fulfilled.
2. Jesus’ response serves as the template for believers when disappointing times come in our lives.
3. Why is the Son of God talking to a tree – a disappointment of purpose?
a. Jesus could have exercised many other options: 1) He could have ignored the tree, 2) He could have gone to another tree, 3) He could have burned the tree, or 4) He could have dug up the tree. Instead Jesus speaks to the tree.
b. Jesus models the profile of faith by speaking to the tree. Faith speaks the word of God to the problem.
c. Believers must say what God has said about the problem not address the problem.
• The dynamics of a confession
[A confession is a statement made in agreement with the word of God regardless of the circumstances.]
1. Hebrews 3:1
a. Jesus’ role as High Priest is to oversee that what you say to the “mountain” comes to pass when you say the Word of God.
2. Hebrews 4:14-15
a. We most hold fast (keep saying) what we have been saying according to the Word because of:
1. Satanic interference. (Daniel 10)
2. To cancel out negative words or confessions. For example, the scripture records Peter denying Jesus 3 times. After Jesus’ resurrection, He cancels Peter’s betrayal by asking Peter 3 times “do you love me?”
3. Speaking the word of God is the only method that defeats the enemy (mountain).
a. Whatever the category of the mountain you face, you must say/speak the word of God to it.
b. You can defeat the enemy with three words – “it is written”. (St. Matthew 4)
c. However, if you do not know what is written about the “mountain” you are experiencing, you cannot speak to it and it will remain in your life.
d. The “mountain” only moves in direct proportion to what you say that is in direct proportion to what God says.
4. II Corinthians 4:17
a. God allows the “light affliction” to test the validity of your faith.
b. You determine how long the “moment” based on what you are saying.
5. Colossians 2:6
a. The method by which you received Jesus is the method you will employ to walk out the process.
6. Romans 10:8-10
a. You receive Jesus as Lord by a twofold process: 1) believe with your heart the Word and 2) confess with your mouth the Word believed.
b. Demons/mountains only respond to the Word you know, believe and confess; demons do not respond because you know Pastor or because of the church you attend.
A. Faith in Action
1. I Samuel 14:6-7, 13
a. God will move on “may be” when you operate by the principles of faith. (verse 6)
b. When you act on the Word, you will discover God has already gone ahead and prepared your victory. (verse 13)
c. When you say the Word, the Word moves the mountains and destroys the enemies.
2. Hebrews 11:1
a. The unseen realm is the realm not perceived by the senses.
b. Saying the Word develops an inner image in your mind – the spirit realm where God exists.
c. The word of God is the image builder. In other words, an inner image of health, wealth and prosperity cannot be formed in you if you have no association or Word on the subject.
[Example: imagine a car; imagine a red car; imagine a red Cadillac; imagine a red Aston Martin car. Many people cannot imagine an Aston Martin because they have no association with this exclusive vehicle]
d. God’s power is reduced when there is no image in your spirit.
e. You cannot believe for something that you do not know exists.
