INTRODUCTION
- If we can gain a proper understanding of Genesis [the first book of the Bible], we can understand the Bible and, consequently, the power of God.
- We study the Bible to know the spirit of the law not just the letter of the law.
- God uses His word as a pipeline to connect us with His power which is the love of God.
- In other words, the Bible connects us with God’s power and His compelling love toward man.
- St. Matthew 22:29
- You have the power of God when you know and understand the scriptures.
- Without an understanding of the Word, a believer cannot expect to lead a victorious life.
- I. The damaging effects of the fall (Genesis 4)
- Eve gives birth to Cain and experience sorrow in child birth because of the curse – Genesis 4:1.
- Cain brings God a bloodless offering that is rejected by God (because there was no covering by the blood); moreover, the ground is cursed.

- Cain, the first offspring of Adam and Eve, thought process is skewed.
- The fall impacted Adam and Eve’s mind to the degree they no longer think like God.

- II. The ministry of Enoch
- Enoch was one of two men who walked with God before the flood. Noah was the other – Genesis 6:9
- Methuselah, the son of Enoch, lived 969 years – Genesis 5:27
- Enoch was the first recoded preacher who preach concerning a coming judgment – Jude 1:14-15
- Enoch was a man of great faith.
- Hebrews 11:5
- Enoch never saw death. He walked from one realm right into the other realm.
- Enoch was one of two human beings who entered into heaven without dying physically. Elijah was the other.
