Tying up the Loose Ends of Genesis 1 – 11, V
(God Cares)
INTRODUCTION
- I Peter 5:7, KJV & AMP
- Philippians 4:6, KJV & AMP
- God’s care makes Him a providential God.
- God governs every aspect of human existence and destiny. He planned for our success in eternity past.
- There are no worries or anxieties on the path to prearranged good life. God has already worked out in eternity past a solution for every problem you will face.
- We have anxiety and care to the degree that we acknowledge God (carry out His instructions in His word) to direct our path.
- God’s care for us is specific and detailed – St. Matthew 10:30
REVIEW
- God has finished everything every man will ever need to make his life complete. We must use our faith to release what He has already provided for us.
- Because God has gifted the earth to man, He counts on His partners (co-laborers) to choose the right path that leads to the good life.
- I Corinthians 3:9
- Psalm 115:16
- Ephesians 2:10, KJV & AMP
- Proverbs 3:5-6
- Proverbs 4:18
- St. John 10:10, KJV & AMP
- Providence defined further…
- Sovereign, divine superintendence of all things guiding them toward their divinely predetermined end in a way that is consistent with their created nature
- Benevolent control of all things
- Bringing to past [in time] sovereignly, absolutely and perfectly what He purposed in eternity
- The life of Joseph illustrates perfectly the providence of God.
- God revealed to Joseph in a dream what He and Jesus had already worked out for his life.
- Romans 8:28-29
- All things must be known by God beforehand if they are to work together. If that’s not true who is the worker that works all things together.
- Foreknow – to have the knowledge of beforehand; in front of time
- Predestined – not choosing man’s destiny for him because that would not be freedom. Predestined is knowing what man would chose before the man arrives on the scene; to decree from eternity; to appoint the arrangement of beforehand
FOUNDATIONAL TEXTS
- Acts 15:18
- Because God worked out every detail of your life, you have vision. If He can give a vision, He has already provided the provision for the vision – St. Matthew 6:34.
- You must confess what God said to have the blessing. “Poor mouthing” will not connect you to the blessing.
- Ephesians 3:8-9
- Colossians 1:15-18
- Hebrews 1:10
- Hebrews 11:3
- Ephesians 1:3-4
- God pronounced our lives blessed in eternity past.
- For example, Jesus was absolutely blessed before He was even born.
- Romans 11:2-4
- God had already appropriated some things that Elijah could not see. God needed Elijah to agree with Him in the spiritual realm.
- I. Example of the providential care and foreknowledge of God
- Genesis 15:13-14
- After accepting Abram’s offering, God reveals to Abram His providence.
- Israel’s deliverance had already been arranged through the life of Joseph.
- St. Matthew 6:25-26
- God provides providential care for human life just as He has provided for and planned for [every] bird food and a nesting place. God and Jesus mastermind every worm for food and every twig for nest building that every bird would need.
- God knows exactly how to connect you to His plan. The fullness of time has to come for the exact plan of God to unfold.
- Genesis 15:13-14
