(Summoning Courage for Prosperity)


  1. III John 1-2 (KJV & The Amplified Bible)
    1. Not all who hear the Word actually understand the power of the Word.
    2. The disciples, excluding John, did not understand many of Jesus’ teaching until after His death.
      1. St. Luke 10:19
    3. The more you know about the Word, the more you can prosper from the Word.
      1. Psalm 90:10
  2. I Thessalonians 5:23-24 (KJV & The Amplified Bible)
    1. Peace is the absence or lack of chaos.
    2. Prosperity is wholeness in your spirit, soul, and body.
      1. Spirit prosperity is receiving the salvation message (being born again).
      2. Soul prosperity is to think like God (you must settle that you live by the principles of God).
      3. Physical prosperity is a body free from sickness and disease.

  1. Prosperity…
    1. Living a fulfilled life with all emotional, financial, relational, and spiritual needs met in abundance.
    2. God’s process of bringing the believer to the place of inner satisfaction.
  2. Fulfillment defined in the scriptures
    1. Jeremiah 1:4-5
      1. Fulfillment comes when you find and embrace your ordained purpose in life.
      2. Parents should know the way of the Creator for their children to live a fulfilled lifeProverb 22:6.


  1.          I.            Summoning courage for prosperity
    1. Defining courage…
      1. Courage is not the absence of fear.
      2. Courage is how you respond in the face of negative situations, difficulties or pressures.
      3. Courage is required to walk by faith.  David had to encourage himself in the Lord.  (Scripture reference – I Samuel 30)
      4. Courage defined…to be strong getting stronger; to be brave, bold, secure; to be made firm; to be made obstinate
      5. Psalm 66:11-12
        1. Courage is necessary to get to your wealthy place because of the enemy that comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
      6. Joshua 1:6-8


  1.         II.            Courage is required when the following  are detected in our lives:
    1. When there is any area in your life you have not surrendered to the Word.
    2. When you cannot endure short term discomforts that come from your obedience to the principles of God.
      1. Principle defined…
        1. A principle is an established truth that defines God’s order, reactions, and responses.
        2. Principles are truths by which God can be counted on to perform regardless of situations, circumstances, and conditions.
    3. When natural success [in one’s own mind] is accepted as proof that God is pleased with your life.  We judge ourselves by the word of God.
    4. When your obedience to God is postponed or delayed.
