Our History…

The Ministry began in 1993 as twelve adults from two churches, one Baptist and the other Full Gospel Pentecostal, came together to form a single church. God used Pastor Matthews to guide the merger and unification of this fragment from the two congregations. While pastoring both congregations, it became apparent to Pastor Matthews that God was calling for a church to minister His Word beyond the traditionally understood realm of local ministry. With this understanding of our role as a church, came the realization that our church should unite under a government that would foster the development of a broader base of ministry. This merger and resulting new church is a fulfillment of the vision from God to assemble believers from separate components of the Body of Christ into one unit to communicate God’s message to Birmingham, Bessemer and beyond.

WE ARE PEOPLE OF PURPOSE

Our Mission…

New Life Interfaith Ministries is a strong New Testament Church of spirit-filled believers who are committed to prayer, personal ministry, evangelism, and discipleship. We’re reaching out to Birmingham, Bessemer, and beyond…

MOLDING BELIEVERS, INFLUENCING THE WORLD

Our Vision…

We are a community of believers working together to fulfill God’s divine purpose and will. This is accomplished through discipleship and training to bring us to the likeness of Jesus Christ through worship, education, and service. This vision also includes ministry through excellence. The word excel means to go from one level to the next. The assignment of New Life Interfaith Ministries, Inc. is to give believers a sense of purpose, develop them to their God-given potential, and to assist Pastor Matthews in the fulfillment of God’s vision for the ministry; so that the home, community, and world are enhanced through the lives of the people of God.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Our Beliefs…

The Statement of Faith is critical to any ministry. It expresses the scriptural and doctrinal position, as the local church is positioned in the Body of Christ. Each member should be in agreement with each tenet (any opinion, principle, dogma or doctrine which a person believes or maintains as true). It is with this understanding that we enter into a relationship to teach and train others in the things of God.
